Online deferment application via “Diia”: step-by-step guide

To apply for deferment from mobilization through “Diia,” the head of a company that is critical to Ukraine’s economy or fulfilling defense needs must follow these steps:

  1. Log in or register on the “Diia” portal, then select the appropriate service in the Business section.
  2. Enter information about the employees to be deferred and approve the application with an electronic signature.
  3. The system will verify whether the company meets the criteria, whether the employees are officially employed, and whether their details are included in the “Oberig” register.
  4. Within 24 hours (or sooner), the employer will receive notifications on the status of each employee.
  5. If approved, the Ministry of Defense will automatically add the employee to a special military registry, marking them as deferred. If denied, the reason for the refusal will be provided.
  6. A deferment certificate can be downloaded from the “Diia” portal and printed if necessary.
  7. The data for deferment can also be submitted by an authorized person, such as an HR manager or head of the personnel department, but the application must be signed by the company’s director.
