Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the founder of the Strategic Advocacy Law Firm, visited the Senate of Italy, one of the key institutions of the Italian Parliament, as part of a study tour.

The Senate of Italy is the upper house of the parliament, which consists of 315 members. In addition to elected senators, the Senate also includes life members – former presidents of the country and up to five people appointed by the current President of Italy for outstanding achievements in science, culture or art.

The Senate’s powers include approving international agreements, declaring a state of war, and granting special powers to the government.

During the study visit, the delegation members had the opportunity to learn more about the principles of the Italian parliamentary system and discuss issues of general legal development.
